While Donald Trump and his equally corrupt administration are fawning over last night’s State of the Union address and calling it a big success, the truth actually looks like quite different than what they’re reporting.
A new poll, which was reported by CNN, showed that Trump’s State of the Union address did, in fact, break a record — but not the kind of record that Trump will be bragging about. Apparently, Trump’s first State of the Union address got the least popular ratings America has ever seen since that data was tracked 20 years ago.
This will be a horrific discovery for Trump’s White House, as they have been bragging today about how Trump’s address broke “nearly all” records for the amount of applause the undeserving president received. The truth, however, is that only 48 percent of those polled had a “very positive” response to his address. Americans stated that 22 percent of them had felt “somewhat positive” about it and 28 percent said they had a “negative” response. In the same poll, Trump ranked with 42 percent approval from Republicans, 33 percent approval from independents, and 25 percent approval from Democrats.
Now, Trump has bragged about his low ratings before, but this will not be good news for him — the 48 percent positive reviews he got this year were far less than the 57 percent of positive reviews he got last year during his first address to Congress. And interestingly enough, this poll had more GOP representation than many others, which may signal the fact that the members of Trump’s own party are not impressed by him.
Trump wants to keep gloating about his address, when there actually isn’t much to be proud of at all. Never has America had a president celebrate his mediocrity as much as Trump, and it’s become a major humiliation for the country. Trump’s impeachment cannot come fast enough!
