Donald Trump isn’t capable of doing anything without making it worse, even when it comes to his own defense. We’ve seen it time and time again — whenever Trump tries to backtrack or defend himself, he just ends up making himself look like even more of a moron.
It’s only Monday and already The Donald is heading toward a full meltdown on Twitter. Things started to look pretty bad last night when Trump tweeted a childish video to taunt Americans about his undeserved election victory. Today, Trump’s hysteria is building as he goes after the New York Times because the newspaper reported on the Trump administration’s opposition to breastfeeding.
The Times stated that the U.S. “sought to water down the resolution by removing language that called on governments to “protect, promote and support breastfeeding” and another passage that called on policymakers to “restrict the promotion of food products that many experts say can have deleterious effects on young children.” This was mainly because Trump didn’t want the sales of the multibillion-dollar baby formula industry to fall, despite the fact that breastfeeding has been widely reported as a healthier option for mothers and babies.
In reaction to the report, Trump went ape-sh*t on Twitter and tried to call out the New York Times. Instead, he ended up proving that the story was true. Trump whined:
The failing NY Times Fake News story today about breast feeding must be called out. The U.S. strongly supports breast feeding but we don’t believe women should be denied access to formula. Many women need this option because of malnutrition and poverty.”
For someone who lies all the time, you’d think he would have at least gotten good at it by now. Once again, the president is his own worst enemy.
