Donald Trump’s refusal to do anything about the poor children that are being ripped from their parents at the southern border is now playing a major role in ensuring that the president and the Republican Party suffer during the election in November.
Even though many of Trump’s administration members have been sent out to defend Trump’s inhumane policies, the White House continues to rightfully get pummeled for its family-dividing policy. Never one to take responsibility or criticism for his actions, Trump sent a message today about his policies, and the fact that he’s a sociopath has never been more clear.
In speaking before the National Federation of Independent Businesses, Trump continued to lie about how Democrats are responsible for the controversial policy and continued to deny that he could change it. In his speech, Trump claimed that Democrats supported immigration loopholes and insisted that his hands were tied in fixing the issue. Trump said:
All we need is good legislation and we can have it taken care of. These are crippling loopholes that cause family separation, which we don’t want.”
Trump’s mental instability also got the better of him, as he attacked Mexico because “they do nothing for us.” He said:
Mexico does nothing for us. Try staying in Mexico for a couple of days and see how long that lasts”
Trump then went on to lash out at NAFTA, Hillary Clinton, the “deep state” and “fake news” media. Claiming that the media was helping criminals by covering illegal immigration, Trump defended taking children away from their parents and putting them in inhumane detention camps:
I don’t want children taken away from parents. And when you prosecute the parents for coming in illegally, which should happen, you have to take the children away.”
You can watch Trump’s disgusting speech below, which he posted to his own Twitter account:
I want to take a moment to address the current illegal immigration crisis on the Southern Border…it has been going on for many, many decades… pic.twitter.com/1F7EK9Ef88
