While Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein was holding a press conference to announce that 12 Russian intelligence officers were charged in the 2016 hacking of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), House conservatives already had an impeachment document on the floor, according to what three conservative Capitol Hill sources told Politico. And we’re sure the timing is just a coincidence (wink wink). They were putting the finishing touches on the impeaching filing even as Rosenstein announced the indictments.
It’s the usual characters who are complicit in covering up for their president.
House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows, in fact, had the impeachment document on the floor of the House at the very moment that Rosenstein spoke to reporters and TV cameras Friday.
Sources said that the impeachment document will be filed as soon as Monday, as Meadows and Freedom Caucus founder Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) look to build Republican support in the House. Although, that date is not ironclad.
Twelve indictments were handed down today, adding to the list of 20 others which were previously filed.
Rosenstein said that defendants hacked into a campaign’s computer, stole emails and other documents, then used Wikileaks to release that information and pointed to Guccifer 2.0, thus sending former campaign adviser Roger Stone running for a bottle of aspirin because he had communicated with Guccifer 2.0 and WankerLeaks.
Other Americans are involved, too, including a U.S. congressional candidate who contacted Russian operatives in 2016 and successfully obtained damaging stolen information on his/her opponent.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump doesn’t seem too concerned about any of this. As the leader of our country, he should be FURIOUS, outraged that Russians stole data on 500,000 U.S. citizens, interfered in our election, hacked a campaign’s computers, and emails, but he’s not. Trump is not protecting this country. Democrats are calling for Trump to cancel his upcoming private meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He could at least have some Americans in the room, but at this point, Trump seems to be more Russian than American.
It’s really bad optics to see that conservatives are seeking to oust Rosenstein while he was announcing the indictments. It’s almost as if something suspicious is going on here.
