Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s longtime former personal attorney, hired a new attorney and he appears to be signaling that his client is going to flip like a pancake on a hot griddle. Lanny Davis, a Washington, DC-based lawyer who in the late 1990s advised then-President Bill Clinton as his legal troubles unfolded, took to Twitter in disbelief over Trump’s lawyer, former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani’s media blitz on Sunday.
Specifically, Davis pointed to Giuliani’s interview on ABC’s This Week in which he said that Cohen “should cooperate” with prosecutors. Giuliani added that if Cohen tells the truth, Trump has nothing to worry about.
“Did @rudygiuliani really say on Sunday shows that @michaelcohen212 should cooperate with prosecutors and tell the truth? Seriously?” Davis tweeted on Monday morning. “Is that Trump and Giuliani definition of ‘truth’? Trump/Giuliani next to the word ‘truth’ = oxymoron. Stay tuned. #thetruthmatters”

In a recent interview, Cohen, who has been very loyal to Trump, said, “My wife, my daughter and my son have my first loyalty and always will. I put family and country first.”
Cohen, who said last year that he would take a bullet for Trump, now acknowledges that he could face criminal charges soon in the probe into his finances and business dealings. Trump’s former ‘fixer’ also took references to his work with the president* off of his social media profiles.
Giuliani, though, encouraged Cohen to cooperate.
“There is no evidence of wrongdoing with President Trump. So, we’re very comfortable,” Giuliani said on CNN’s State of the Union Sunday. “If [Cohen] believes it’s in his best interest to cooperate, God bless him. He should cooperate.”
For once, we can all agree with Trump’s newest attorney. Cohen knows where the bodies are buried. Whatever you do, Rudy, please keep talking.
