It is being reported that former aide to President Trump Omarosa Manigault-Newman, secretly recorded conversations with the President while she was serving in the White House. The Daily Beast states that Manigault-Newman – who, like Trump, is a former reality star – is coming out with a tell-all book about her experience while working in the Trump administration. The title of the book is called “Unhinged,” and it is set to release on August 14.
She’s not the only person who is revealing their experience while working in the White House under Trump. Michael Cohen, Trump’s longtime personal lawyer, had also recorded Trump. So far, one of Cohen’s tapes has been released and revealed to the public, with the tape showing that Trump knew about making payments to former adult stars and models. In the recordings, Trump discusses payments with a model whom he was accused of having an affair with.
For several months, it has been rumored that Manigault-Newman recorded audio in her smartphone of unspecified private conversations she had in the West Wing, with several of the audiotapes starring her former boss. One person confirmed that they personally heard one of the tapes featuring Trump. Several sources describe the recorded conversations between Trump and Manigault-Newman as everyday chatter and phone conversations.
These tapes represent a completely different side of Manigault-Newman, who was once a Trump lackey and would blindly defend the president. The mere existence of the recordings signals a betrayal of trust, with the Trump confidant abandoning years of loyalty to the president and has apparently decided to come clean with her experience with the Trump administration.
Trump loathes the idea of being recorded without his permission and felt particularly betrayed when the Cohen tapes were released. So expect Trump to go on a Twitter tirade sometime soon.
